Nowadays, emails are being sent showing Dresdner Bank Luxembourg S.A. as the sender and containing a request to provide personal details using a link shown in the mail. Such emails are instances of phishing.
In so-called "phishing" (derived from the phrase "fishing for passwords"), emails are sent by faking the addresses of well-known companies and service providers. Customers are requested to provide access information directly via email. Alternately, a link in the email leads to a fake website. This site solicits personal data or access information which is then passed on to unauthorized individuals.
Dresdner Bank cannot prevent the manipulation of email sender addresses by the attacker.
